Welcome to the Suttons Bay Band website! We are currently working on adding lots of material and information.
Suttons Bay Public Schools' 8th grader Natalie Myers (left) was recently selected for the 2013 middle school All-State Band. Over 2,300 students auditioned state-wide, from which 400 were chosen for five ensembles. Rehearsals and performances will be held at the Amway Grand the weekend of January 18, 2013. Rachel Anderson (center, 10th) and Naomi Myers (right, 9th) successfully auditioned with students from 11 counties in northwest lower Michigan for high school Honors Band. Rehearsals and performances will be held at Petoskey Schools the weekend of December 1, 2012. All three students are members of the Suttons Bay High School band under the direction of Emily Morgan-Booth, and also participate in the Northport Community Band under the direction of Don Wilcox. Natalie Myers is the only student representing a Leelanau County school, either high school or middle school, for 2013 All-State band. Suttons Bay Christmas Concert is Monday, December 10 at 7 pm. Northport Community Band and Village Voices Christmas Concert is Sunday, 12/16 at 3pm at Northport School ($20 adults/$5 students)
In March, 2012, both the Suttons Bay HS Band and the 7/8 Band received an overall 2 rating at the District Band competition. The High School band was very close to a 1 rating. Congratulations!
